Why join our story?
Creative Expression
Storytelling is a powerful tool. Our workshops give you a space to explore and express your journey, emotions, and challenges. Whether you've told your story before or this is the first time, you'll have the chance to shape it in a creative way, guided by experienced facilitators.
Mental Wellbeing
Taking part in creative activities like storytelling has been shown to reduce stress, increase self-reflection, and improve overall mental health. By reflecting on your journey in a supportive space, you’ll gain new insights, build self-esteem, and take pride in seeing your story brought to life.
Community Connection
Our Story is all about bringing people together. By attending the workshops, you’ll connect with others who share similar experiences, creating a sense of solidarity and empathy that strengthens both personal and community bonds.
What you can expect
Our Story consists of 12 free creative workshops held at The Met Theatre’s Storytelling Hub in Bury. These sessions are designed to support individuals navigating mental health challenges, as well as their families and carers. You’ll learn how to express your experiences through storytelling, using creative techniques that help make complex emotions and topics more accessible.
The workshops provide a safe, supportive space where you can connect with others, share your journey, and explore your story in a way that feels comfortable. To make participation as easy as possible, refreshments will be provided, and we’ll cover travel costs through a stipend to remove any barriers to attendance if required.

A legacy of Stories
At the end of the project, the stories and poems created will be published in a collective book. This final product will be a powerful testament to the creativity and resilience of the participants. More than just a book, it will serve as a lasting legacy for the entire Bury community, breaking down stigmas, raising awareness, and offering hope to others who may be on a similar journey.
Why this project is for you
Our workshops will provide the tools and guidance to help you share your story in a meaningful way.
